obstinancy and individiuality are 2 totally different things.
i read Tom Gunn's 'Tamer and the Hawk' and i really liked it. so i'm writing similar. like the whole animal imagery thing.
Barking For Love
I splash around, balance the ball on my head.
I wanted your fish.
You smile, clap, and gave me a pat instead.
And there goes my wish.
Sometimes, when i flip, i sing and wobble along,
You throw one out for me.
But you do it on purpose, you know that's not what i long
For, its to make me happy.
Why don't you just feed me?
Is that too much to ask?
Yep, its a game you love many.
I'm just part of the task.
A fish here, a fish there.
You keep me hanging, tail wagging.
You act like you really care,
But sometimes you look like you're just playing.
I just want the fish, why cant you give it?
I know its a futile request.
But its my life, and its on me how i live it.
Look at me, i've become such a mess.
I'll still tag along though.
I still have that hope.
With just a flick you throw
The fish to me, it's like dope.
